We had a wonderful experience at Bikanerwala! The food was fresh, delicious, and full of authentic flavors. They have a great variety of snacks, sweets, and meals, all served with excellent quality. The restaurant was clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was courteous, attentive, and ensured we had a comfortable dining experience. Overall, it’s a fantastic place for family outings or a quick bite. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be coming back again!

I recently visited Bikanervala in Chicago and had a great experience. The food quality was excellent, with authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and a wide variety of Indian dishes and sweets to choose from. Everything we ordered was well-prepared and tasted just like traditional Indian food. What stood out even more was the customer service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with recommendations and questions. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The only reason I'm not giving it a perfect score is that the pricing can feel a little on the higher side, especially for some menu items. However, the portions are generous, and considering the quality of the food and service, it still offers good value overall. If you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine and a pleasant dining experience in Chicago, Bikanervala is definitely worth a visit.

The newly opened location in Schaumburg is quite spacious with a separate section for sweets that they specialize in and a separate, adjacent dining area. They have a table service with a couple of waiter and waitress manning the entire dining area, with an occasional food preparer coming out to serve the food and they disappear. The tables with those broad base are really bad with the patrons having to choose between leg room or food reach. I chose food reach and sat with my legs likety split. The atmosphere is good, with a lot of facts on one side of the restaurant and the other being a bit bare. I sat with my back to the facts and never got to reading them. The service is fast despite our very large order though the starters never got there before the "entrees". The waiting staff are not attentive as our water "jug" ran out with one serving each and no one came to replace ot refill it until I asked. The waiting staff are mostly school kids. I ordered pav bhaji and the pav was dry toasted. The dish was good as was the makki ki roti (corn bread) made in tandoori oven along with the sarson ka saag. My visit to Bikanervala in Schaumburg was nothing short of a delightful journey back to the vibrant streets of India — from the moment I stepped in, the aromas and flavors transported me straight there. I started with chole bhature, and it was an absolute standout: the bhature were pillowy and perfectly fried, and the spicy chickpea curry had that familiar bold seasoning that reminded me of home. The raj kachori was another highlight — a crisp, hollow shell generously filled with tangy chutneys, creamy yogurt, potatoes, and chickpeas, delivering a burst of textures and tastes in every bite. I also indulged in sev puri, where the contrast of crunchy puris, fresh toppings, zesty chutneys, and sev made for an addictive street-food experience. The paneer pakoda was golden and light, with soft, juicy paneer inside and a delicately spiced batter outside. To wash it all down, I enjoyed a refreshing shikanji alongside a soda lime water — both drinks were bright, cooling, and balanced perfectly with the rich and spicy snacks. We went for a casual Sunday brunch, and the place was completely packed. It was very loud, there was a 20-minute wait for a table, and several menu items were already unavailable. We ordered a wide variety—bread pakora, chole bhature, papri chaat, samosa chaat, vada, kachori, pav bhaji, and mango lassi—but everything was just mediocre. Nothing really stood out, which was disappointing given all the hype around this restaurant. I will say- The decor of the restaurant is good. Between the unremarkable food, slow service, and loud atmosphere, I don’t think I’ll be returning.
